FreePBX Distro Annoucement

We mentioned coming out with a full install ISO for the FreePBX Distro in the last blog so as promised here we are with the details! We’ll discuss that and some core changes that many of you have been asking for.
FreePBX Distro Upgrade for FreePBX GUI 2.10

So people have started to want to upgrade their FreePBX Distro systems to FreePBX 2.10. They are now seeing a problem where sysadmin for FreePBX 2.10 will not install on older FreePBX Distro systems as sysadmin 2.10 requires PHP 5.3. We have decided to move the FreePBX Distro 1.88.210.57 into stable even though FreePBX 2.10 is considered RC1 still so be careful with the upgrade.

What are we thinking about for 2.11

With 2.10 finalized and humming along on thousands of systems, it's time to start deciding what to do for the next release. With the current trend of double digit release numbers, maybe we should name it 11 instead of 2.11? If you have an opinion feel free to express it but for now let's discuss more interesting topics, like what should be in it!! Some of us developers got on a phone conference last week to start this dialog. We've got some ideas which I'll express next but as always we want to hear from you!
2.10 Officially Final

The current release, FreePBX 2.10 has been pretty much final for quite a while now though we have been reluctant to officially bless it as such because we wanted to be very conservative on the new release given the GUI changes and some of the other big changes that have gone into it. With about 6000 beta and release candidates systems that have tried it out and many of those active and in production, we decided that it's probably ok to bless it as final!
Lots of Recent 2.10 Activity to Close Things Up

Things have been pretty busy over the last week or two if you have been watching all the tickets being closed, moved around, checkins, etc. We've been busy going over all the tickets filed under 2.10, making sure to review and/or address any outstanding issues that may have been missed, dealing with a minor security issue that surfaced briefly last week but was quickly closed, and so on. Here are a few details as to where things stand based on all this activity!

Server Progress and Plans

We've made great progress on the new repository and web site servers and are happy to report that all is going very well! As you may recall, we've been having server problems for some time on our 5 year old hardware and have been undergoing the first phase of our modernization process! Time for another update...
